GOLDEN DELICIOUS REINDERS®
FRUIT
Harvest Time
Middle of October
Fruit
Medium-sized (small when over-fruiting), spherical-conical or spherical-flattened. Light greenish to greenish-yellow skin, unlike Golden Delicious, not russet. The blush covering the fruit is sometimes more pronounced and intense than in the orange-salmon Golden Delicious. Greenish-brown lenticels are clearly visible. The peduncle is long and thin or medium-thick. The peduncle cavity is medium-deep and medium-wide to wide, with very little russeting (often without russeting). The calyx cavity is medium-deep and quite wide, strongly undulating and slightly russeting. The calyx is quite large and closed (sometimes semi-open), and the sepals are long, pubescent, and grayish. The flesh is creamy-yellow, medium-grained, quite firm, moderately juicy, sweet, slightly tart, aromatic, and exceptionally tasty. The seed cavity is quite large. The seed chambers are large and semi-open. The seeds are medium-sized, ovate, slightly elongated, pointed, and numerous.
